LEVEL 01
Dark Light
GPIO
The ship's control pins are dead. Set up the oscillator, set pin directions (TRIS), and drive Port A and Port B pins to 5V to restore power — the foundation of embedded I/O.

Progression
From Dark Light to Bus Battle — seven levels of embedded systems puzzles, each teaching a real hardware concept. Launching November 14, 2026.
LEVEL 01
GPIO
The ship's control pins are dead. Set up the oscillator, set pin directions (TRIS), and drive Port A and Port B pins to 5V to restore power — the foundation of embedded I/O.

LEVEL 02
ADC
The ship's sensors have gone blind. Enable both ADC modules, select their input channels, and set the conversion clock to recover the lost analog data — how a chip reads the real world.

LEVEL 03
Timers
The ship's timing has collapsed. Enable Timer0 in 8-bit mode and Timer1 in 16-bit mode with a prescaler to restore its rhythm — the heartbeat of timed operations.

LEVEL 04
EEPROM
The ship has lost its stored mission memory mid-flight. Point to EEPROM memory and initiate a read, then a write, to recover and rewrite its critical data — non-volatile memory in action.

LEVEL 05
UART
An incoming craft can no longer talk to the station. Enable the serial port, then turn on the transmitter and receiver to reopen its serial communication line — how devices talk over two wires.

LEVEL 06
SPI
A ship's onboard devices have fallen silent on the bus. Enable the serial port and select SPI Master and Slave modes to get its components speaking again — high-speed device communication.

LEVEL 07
I²C
The final craft's multi-device network is in chaos. Enable the serial port and select I2C Master and Slave modes to bring order to the bus and complete the rescue — addressed multi-device buses.
