EmbeddedPlayX

About us

We make microcontrollers playable.

EmbeddedPlayX is the first 3D game where you walk inside a microcontroller — flipping register bits, programming ROM, and watching the CPU execute your code in real time.

01 / Our story

Why we built it.

Embedded systems are everywhere, yet learning them usually starts with a dense datasheet and a board that either works or silently doesn't. What happens inside the chip stays invisible — and that's exactly where most learners get stuck.

We wanted to make that inside visible. In EmbeddedPlayX, the microcontroller is a place you can explore: rooms for each peripheral, levers for each register bit, and a CPU you can watch fetch, decode, and execute the setup you just wrote.

Each mission drops you into a damaged spacecraft and asks you to bring one system back online. Fix the hardware, and you've learned how it works.

OUR MISSION

Turn theory into something you can touch.

Make the fundamentals of embedded systems — I/O, analog input, timing, memory, and communication — understandable by letting people configure real hardware concepts themselves, step by step, and see the result immediately.

OUR VISION

Every engineer starts inside the silicon.

A world where anyone curious about electronics can understand how a microcontroller really works — not by memorising registers, but by having been inside one.

02 / What we believe

How we teach.

Four principles shape every mission in the game.

  • 01

    Learn by doing

You don't read about a register — you flip its bits with a lever and watch what the hardware does next.

  • 02

    Real hardware, not a metaphor

Oscillators, TRIS registers, prescalers, bus modes. Every mechanic maps to a concept you'll meet on a real chip.

  • 03

    See the invisible

Fetch, decode, execute — the CPU runs your configuration in front of you, so cause and effect are never hidden.

  • 04

    Theory on hand

Every mission is backed by free documentation, so you can study the concept before, during, or after you play.

03 / The campaign

Seven levels, one path.

From your first pin to a shared bus — each level teaches one real peripheral.

04 / Who it's for

Built for the curious.

  • Students

Build intuition for the embedded-systems course you're taking — or about to take.

  • Hobbyists & makers

Understand what your Arduino or PIC is actually doing underneath the library calls.

  • Colleges & teams

Give a classroom, lab, or engineering team a shared, hands-on starting point.
